Rainforests are not just in South America. One of America’s own inland rainforests, one of the last of its kind, is sitting outside Mt. Rainier National Park.
Growing up in Fife, I have looked at the mountain every day without realizing the Carbon River Valley rainforest is being logged and developed, devastating both the picturesque landscape and the home of many unique species.
We need Sen. Maria Cantwell to put the protection of the Carbon River Valley rainforest at the top of her agenda so that future Washingtonians and visitors can continue to bask in the magnificence of our natural wilderness.
