Dan Kohler is a Regional Director for Environment America state affiliates including Environment Washington. He began his career as an environmental advocate in 1999 as a grassroots organizer with the Public Interest Research Groups. Before taking on his current role with Environment America, Dan was the Director of Wisconsin Environment. In that capacity, he led state-wide campaigns to increase the state’s commitment to clean, renewable energy, protect water quality in the state’s lakes and streams, promote electronics recycling and preserve open space.

He co-authored a series of reports to educate the public and decision-makers about the true potential of clean energy, including "Wisconsin’s Clean Energy Future: How Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Protect our Environment and Create New Jobs" and "Ready to Shine: the Potential of Wisconsin’s Solar Industry." Among his proudest recent achievements is helping to win new protections for Wisconsin’s beautiful lakes and streams.
